ABOUT TEXAS ASPHALT PAVEMENT ASSOCIATION
"DEDICATED TO QUALITY"
In 1944 a small group of highway contractors formed the Hot Mix Association of Texas to improve the quality of hot mix asphalt pavements and their usage by the Texas Highway Department. Incorporated in 1962 as the Texas Hot Mix Asphalt Pavement Association (THMAPA), the organization continued its work to promote the production of a high-quality product.
In 1972 the association's activities were expanded to the non-highway market and began offering the same high level of services to all designers and users of hot mix asphalt pavements. In 2001 the THMAPA changed its name to Texas Asphalt Pavement Association (TxAPA).
